Clouds Rest Overlook – Runyon Canyon Park

Clouds Rest Overlook is a spot in Runyon Canyon Park, a 130-acre park that is just a couple of blocks away from Hollywood Boulevard. There are three ways to access it: off Mulholland, Vista Street, and Fuller Avenue. It was acquired by Los Angeles City in 1983 with a grant from Santa Monica Mountains Conservancy. The Recreation as an Urban Wilderness and LA Department of Parks manage the park. Clouds Rest Overlook is an example of wild chaparral. The trees and shrubs are resistant to drought. It’s perfect for trailing, and, of course, it is not called Clouds Rest Overlook for anything. It does give you a fantastic view of the clouds, almost feeling like you are near touching them.

It has a wide fire road that runs up from the Vista entrance. If you are looking for a challenging trail, you can also find it here because it has demanding trails that take you up to a number of stunning viewpoints such as the Griffith Observatory and the famous Hollywood Sign. The highest point you can reach here is the Indian Rock, which is around 1,320 feet. If you visit during the summertime, make sure you bring lots of water with you, and oh, don’t forget your sunblock. It can be quite challenging to reach various points when the sun is beaming, but the view compensates.
