If you have been to Getty Center, then you probably have visited the Getty Villa for it is a part of the same museum. Although some people are too fascinated by the Getty Center itself that they fail to visit other little details such as the Getty Villa. We strongly suggest you visit the Getty Villa for it offers a different kind of experience. It is situated on the eastern part of the Malibu Coast. Once you’re there, you will be amazed by the ornate sights waiting for you. From a Southern California feel, the Getty Villa will transport you to the ancient world of Rome and Greece. The property itself is a must-see for it is well-manicured.
The Getty Villa holds a collection of many things – all speak Greek and Roman. There are 44,000 Etruscan, Roman, and Greek antiques dating from 6,500 BC to 400 AD. Here’s another good thing – admission is absolutely free! However, you need to reserve time tickets via the museum’s website or by phone. They don’t accept walk-ins. So to ensure you will be able to access the villa, book ahead of time. and oh, please note that although the entrance is free, the parking isn’t. it would cost you $20 for parking your car.
