The “Torso” by Robert Graham sculpture in Beverly Hills, Located in N Rodeo Dr, Beverly Hills, CA 90210, United States. The 14 foot-tall, silver statue is impossible to miss. It is made of carved aluminum. It becomes the symbol of “The Drive The Walk of Style”, which recognizes designers for their contributions to the fashion and entertainment industries, was inaugurated at the intersection of Rodeo Drive and Dayton Way in June 2003. The piece, which the Rodeo Drive Committee commissioned and then donated to the City of Beverly Hills, is a representation of Graham’s longtime interest with the feminine body.
This was revealed at the event that marked the honoree’s establishment, which was attended by Giorgio Armani. Graham created the sculpture especially for the Walk of Style. The Walk of Style honorees are recognized with bronze plaques embedded in the sidewalk, similar to the more well-known Hollywood Walk of Fame. The sculpture by Graham is portrayed on the plaques in a perfect state. To commemorate the occasion, Graham’s sculpture is given in miniature to each recipient.
The Torso is set on a bronze pedestal and constructed from solid aluminum pieces. Each honoree receives a maquette of “Torso,” another Mr. Graham creation, as part of the induction ceremony as well as the Rodeo Drive Walk of Style Award.
